What is Operation: Warm Heads?
We are a new, unique, (501)c3 organization in Little Rock dedicated to helping disadvantaged children stay warm in the winter. Far too many children in Little Rock go without warm clothing in the winter simply because their families cannot afford them. Our goal is to ensure that as many children as possible have a nice warm hat when it is cold outside. We also try to ensure that these hats will let them show their personality to build a sense of self and self-esteem. Please check out the Hat Gallery to see how we do this. In the winter of 2014/2015, we were able to distribute 268 hats thanks to the help of our volunteers and donors. With your help, we are hoping to triple that number for the 2015/2016 winter.
According to The National Center for Children in Poverty, 53% of children in Arkansas are low-income. With recent cuts to welfare programs, these families are having to make difficult choices. We need people like you to help us give these families all the support that we can. Please check out the Volunteer Page to learn about the many ways that you can help!
What is our mission?
Operation Warm Heads will provide hand-crafted hats and other cold weather gear with unique flair to children of needy families in the central Arkansas area through various community involvement programs.
What is our vision?
Our vision is that one day no child in the central Arkansas area will go without cold weather gear because of their socioeconomic status or other due hardships.
